🌳🥑 Can planting a single tree change a community? In Nepal and Kenya, it already is. In the landscapes of Nepal and Kenya, Green Intelligence is transforming how people and nature grow together. One tree at a time. Founded by Matthijs van Rijn, who grew up exploring nature alongside his father and grandfather, the initiative helps local communities build productive food forests that restore biodiversity, improve soil health, and create new economic opportunities. More than 1,000 smallholder farmers have been planting trees including coffee, avocado, macadamia, lemon, timur (Nepali Szechuan pepper), and tejpat (bay leaf). These trees are now literally bearing fruit: farmers are harvesting, selling their produce, and seeing their hard work begin to pay off. By certifying these projects through Oncra, the impact of every planted tree and every restored hectare becomes both measurable and economically valuable. The generated carbon credits can be sold to support local farmers and expand the movement. A great way to enable more people, more trees, and more resilient landscapes to thrive! ✨ Check out Green Intelligence at the Oncra registry: https://lnkd.in/eH7z68Eb And don't miss this inspiring video about the project: https://lnkd.in/ecNBpWDz
