Province of Utrecht decides on €875/ton CO2 price

The province of Utrecht will be the first government in the Netherlands to include global social costs of climate change in its policy considerations and choices. Part of these considerations includes the future damage of climate change. This was decided by the Provincial Executive. With an internal calculation price of at least 875 euros per tonne of CO2, the province is setting the bar high and challenging fellow governments and market players to follow its example.
